Need a Carfax?

Recently, I became curious about the history of a couple of vehicles in my auto collection. After I realized just how useful a tool Carfax can be, I decided to order "unlimited reports" for 30 days. I have no problem keeping this account open for as long as necessary, and as long as there is a need for it on NICO. My goal is to help everybody on NICO who wants or needs a vehicle history report, but doesn't feel like paying a fee for a single report. If you're considering a used-car purchase in the near future, or are just curious about that 240sx you just got a smokin deal on, then a Carfax report is a must. Let me know if I can help you.

Red240ne, could your VIN be from a pre-81 car?? Carfax doesn't collect records on autos built pre-81.

Also, it should be the number "1", not the letter "I". The letter "I" does not appear in VINs, according to carfax. I tried both, but still a no go. In any case, recheck the VIN and let me know.

Zombieman, you've got mail. While carfax isn't an all-seeing, all-knowing deal, it's still a good idea to run a report, just to see what kind of history HAS been reported to carfax. It's a useful guide, and can usually help you steer clear of the bad junk out there. Zombieman, beat up body and all, your report runs clean. Any other VINs you need, just let me know.

hey nice of you to do this man.. I did it a while back and got like 93430483 requests... hope you're ready to spend some time doin it

just so you know: carfax makes you re-sign the contract at like 40 or 50 VIN searches, re-affirming the point that you're using it "for personal use only" and reminding you of the fact that you can be prosecuted under law for using it... like this I guess. That's where I stopped offering it to people-- just figured I'd let you know so you can limit how many you do a month or whatever you wanna do...
