OK, I'm trying to set timing, adjust points, adjust valves, verify compression,etc... I just got back from the second maiden voyage. This one lasted about 1.5 hours!!! The truck runs great, just seems like it is low on power going up the hills, or is that normal for the J13? Also, my running lights in the front(turn signals) go out when I put the headlights on, but burn when the switch is in the parking light position.

I really need some info. Repair manuals (I will pay you to make me a copy if you have one). I am in desperate need of specs. Carb float level, timing, dwell angle info, etc. I would really appreciate it. Just trying to keep this one going. It only has 118K and NO major rust on the body!!!! Just getting tired of never being able to get the right part. Is there a vendor anywhere that specializes in our 520's? Thanks everyone.

Loading your manual on the server right now - Give me a few minutes.

For the low, low cost of free-ninety nine.

J13 is about 60hp IIRC, so there's no surprise it feels weak on an uphill grade.

Wiring issue with the lights? Trace those wires - It's a pretty simplistic wiring setup. Sounds like it's wired wrong at the switch tho.

Some 520 parts are still available through places like AutoZone and RockAuto.com...

My lights did the same thing. The inspection station would not pass the truck even though this is the way it is wired. I added a diode to the light switch so the front running lights would stay on with the switch fully pulled out. YOu think yours is slow uphill? I replaced the rear gears and went from a 4.88 to a 3.90. Great on the hiway but slow acceleration.

It's black now

Thank you for the Manual! I downloaded it also. Hope you didn't mind?
