So im in the process of doing some AC work for Ross's 91 active. I have all the stuff I need however I have a set of R134a guages that I want to use on his R12 system. I bought some fittings from napa and assuming they are the correct ones, they dont fit on the car properly (which I assume means theyre wrong).

Anyway, I need someone to take a quick picture of the low and high side fittings on a R12 Q. I just want to make sure they look the same. Im going in the morning to buy some new fittings but id like to know if the fittings are the way that Infiniti had them. I would assume they are because they took the car only to the dealership.

Thanks in advance!!!

It's dark right now so I can't take a decent picture, but R12 fittings aren't one standard size/shape like R134. When I had my R12 pressure checked by a friend of mine that does A/C work, he tried to thread on the typical R12 hose and it was too big. He knew just what size it was after that and in about a minute came back from his shop with the correct adapter. Sooo, it's a somewhat common fitting for R12, but not the most common.

Evan has my yellow R12 hoses. Might want to check with him.

Here ya go.

The one by the battery, the larger picture (high side??) is slightly smaller than the one by the firewall(low side??)

Ahhh yes... the power of the internet has two guys on opposite coasts standing in their garages late at night taking pictures of their A/C ports to post for a guy in Indiana.

They are different sizes... I tried putting the cap for the low side on the high side and it didn't work. My gauges all seem to have the same size fittings... and I know I have checked it before. Maybe I just checked the low side?

Hope these help!
