I know this is the KA sight, and that engine is an option, i have access to two of them, but I am a purist with 2 or 3 L18s in my shop , four6 L20B's and two reworked heads and a couple of z20's and z22 also. I need 200 hp for my 4x4 truck, 79 bulletside on a 80 4x4 frame w/ 5speed to pull my tow dolly and 5th wheel over the Rockies and Sieras. I am ready to build an engine, I just dont know which one to build. I repeat I need 200 hp! I have researched a hybrid LZ engine with L heads and z20 or 22 block, and L18 heads, the L crank. but also have been told to use L20 block with z22 crank to make a L22 engine, and I have been told that I need to use z22 block with ka pistons but dont know what head to use, Naps z heads are out of the question with every source I check, so have eliminated using them. I need some serious help ASAP, need to get truck up and running for a trip to either Oregon or washington to get parts for my next projects. thanks

You really might want ot look into a bigger truck. A 5th wheel trailer on a Datsun 620 is not safe at all, too much weight for it. You dont have enough brakes to stop it through the rockies.

well I'm no expert on the 4 bangers but I'd shoose the bottm end with the greatest displacement and the piston head combo that would yield the highest compression, aside from that port it to the max and ballance the rotating assy, you'l be well ahead of the game

one of the best things you can do is put in the turbo or 2+2 flywheel/clutch in there with a daikin clutch. that'll help a LOT my friend has pulled over 3 tons multiple times in his 78 with a stock l20B running inported SU's and that clutch.
