Can anyone recommend a Maxima expert mechanic in the greater Seattle area (Lynnwood to Tacoma)? I have a 1991 Maxima with 80,000 miles. It quit running (went dead in traffic) 2 years ago - the battery was completely drained although the battery itself was actually fine. I don’t remember any dash lights being on at the time to indicate that the alternator was not charging.
The car has been sitting since it quit (for two years). Currently it has bad injectors on cylinders 1, 3, and 5, but the engine can be started and will run on the other three cylinders.
I need someone who has lots of experience with this car/engine, who can go through it and give me the bottom line on everything that needs to be repaired now, plus what they would expect to go bad in the next few years of driving, given that the car is 23 years old. I’m hoping that thorough diagnostics can be done up front, so I have a good idea before the work starts about how much the total cost will be.
I’m generally not willing to take the car to dealership service departments because of all the games that go on there, but if there’s an exception to this rule in my area, I’d consider it. Thanks.
