Basically, when you're filling, it beeps the horn when the tire reaches it's proper pressure level.

And like many luxury cars, Nissans will adopt exact PSI readings instead of an idiot light.

This is how it should have been in the first place. Great idea. I just wonder how many people will still ignore it

THIS PLEASES ME GREATLY.

Why the @#$% didn't TPMS BEGIN as exact PSI readings? I'd PAY EXTRA for PSI-accurate TPMS.

The fill level warning is pretty damn neat as well. I'd kinda prefer something a little more subtle, like a flash of the hazards, but it's still a neat idea.

Some cars do not use actual sensors in each wheel, but rather use input from the ABS sensors (Less pressure, smaller radius, slightly more revolutions).

If a system uses the ABS sensors (indirect TPMS), it can't give exact numbers.

Advatages:

Its cheaper, less complicated, you can switch wheels out without getting new sensors

I think it is pretty clever.

My sisters Nissan Quest will show the PSI of each tire on the console whereas I don't have that on my G's. Kinda sucky.

I agree that I would also pay extra to get a tpms that tells me exact tire pressure. Also, if you were filling up a tire you couldnt see the hazards flash, thats why it honks. I was thinking the same thing about it being alittle loud, maybe there should be a seperate smaller lighter sounding horn just for that. But anyways, someone is richer from that idea.

The older 350's have it too as one of the scrolled optioned on the multi-function gauge in the triple pod. I can almost understand it not being incorporated into the G sedan, but it should have been on the G coupe and never should have been removed from the Z.

Still nothing beats a good mechanical gauge, I recommend Longacre.

Agree. I really like that feature on my 350z. Very handy at the track to monitor hot pressures during the session.

Its probably available if you got the factory NAV system. My 04 G35 Coupe had it. So does my 04Titan. Both are displayed on the nav screen within the trip menu. Its a nice feature as I can easily check the pressure readings if I feel something is a bit off. Made it easy to tell I had a nail in my tire months ago even before the warning light came on.

I remember seeing that on a demo Quest at our local dealership. What a cute feature, maybe the 2013 Z is in my future. :ohno:

Sigh. I miss that feature, makes me want to throw my old wheels back on.

I'll never understand why they removed that feature in the newer models.
