I think we should get a thread that has a list of companies that manufacter quality performance parts for the CA. I know that alot of people (myself included) have a hard time finding parts. Who thinks that we should do this?

If anyone wants to email me some company ideas I'll make a stickey or add it to one of the other ones. It sounds like a good idea, but I don't have much in the way of aftermarket motor parts, so ya'll have to help me out!:)

i was thinking about this myself, im not a ca owner yet, but as soon as i have the money, it was going to be the engine that i was going to buy. however, just looking at sites online, especially like phase2, i can get on and get most performance parts for the sr that i need. is there a good importer of tomei or jun parts that you can sticky or anything? for example, what do you guys do when you want valve and springs, different cams, cam gears, heads, etc? sorry for the questions, i know you guys answer them a lot, maybe start a sticky with questions we can ask, then the mod can put the question and answer in his post, and can delete ours? thanks a lot.

try australian sites, ebay, sites in the uk, etc. i just go to http://www.perfectrun.com.au to get what i cant find in the states. nice people, quick shipping and about half the prices arent too bad. the ca has a great valvetrain so youll not likely be needing any of that stuff. itll make gobs of power safely without being modified internally. ask around if you need a part, likely someone here will be able to sell it to you.

thanks, you just sealed the deal for me on the ca, especially after reading the faq's on other sites, how are people willing to put an engine into their daily driver that they cant even get basic parts like an alternator for! (from what i understand, there is no part for the ca that i can't get from an autozone, right? except of course big things like the turbo, etc.)

You can get just about any part from anywhere. With the CA you want to buy parts for a late 80's nissan pulsar with a 1.8/ SR buy parts for an early 90's sentra SER/ RB buy alot of parts for the 300zx. The thing that I love about CA's is they are high revving engines. Yes the SR's have more torque but I personally love the high revving CA. Either way you go NICO is the best place I have found. Good luck with your ventures....

well, if i went with the sr20, look at this post that is in the NICO rwd sr forum sticky:Quote »The only parts you really need to get from Japan are the starter, alternator, water pump, and headgasket. Most everything else can be found locally or adapted to fit. [/quote]starter and alternator? those are parts that i want to be able to get here! not trying to start a flaming war against the sr, it is just that my 240 is my only car, so no engine that i cant readily get (at least temporary) basic replacement parts for.

no....you should still be able to get those basic things here. Where I work...(Advance Auto Parts) people come in all the time with parts that they need. The important thing is that they need them for stuff that has been molested so much that it no longer has an application. My point is that you can always find the parts that you need here stateside...you just have to do some homework. By all means I still think that the CA's rule so go ahead with em' but yeah..forgot where I was going, anyways you can find all those basic parts here you just have to look.
