I'm usually a skeptical guy but lately I've had some extra cash. I bought a bottle of Turtle Wax chip repair for green cars. It comes with a bottle of green goo and a lipstick-type applicator.

You take the applicator, run it over each rock chip, then coat the area with the green goo. Then you wipe off the excess and youre done! The nose of my 92 Q went from spotted to spotless within 15 minutes. Its amazing.

I recommend it to any 90-93 Q owner, since that grilleless nose is prone to damage. $7.50 at Wal-Mart.

Hmmm... I tried in on my black Q (with the black wax of course) and didn't think it worked that well. Maybe the key is to use the wax to polish off the "lipstick." I just put the filler on first, and then wiped it off... I'll have to try it!

Might try http://langka.com/ for a touch up solution.

The main advice I was given, is to eliminate all the excess paint very patiently and carefully, and use just he very tip to gradually build the layers within the chip area. This involve multiple wipes of the brush against the container edge and of course letting the point dry out of the sun and weather.

I have used that stuff too!! I used the stuff to wax the whole car, and I must say, it made it look great!! I also tried the lipstick stuff, and on the things I have tried it on, it would need to use more...... I will have to try it again! I tried it on a big scratch (not big, but deep), and it looks better, but it still could use some more...... You have to let the stuff sit on there for a while for it to do anything...... And then wipe it off with the colored stuff..... I am going to try it this weekend on my grandpas bright red grand marquis, and see if it fills in the bird s*** spots very well!!

If you dont use the wax to buff off the colorstik, you will have a big, gooey, waxy, mess..... But I would recommend taking a towel (or maybe a Qtip) and rubbing it around......

I tried again, and it really helps using the wax to take off the colorstick stuff! Ended up waxing the hood, roof, and bumpers down to the pinstripe... and it really looks good now! I'm surprised how much of the color remains on the car too - I sat my applicator down on my white truck, and then tried to wipe it off and it left a nice dark grey spot that I'll have to take off with some other wax later.

up close on his car you can tell where he fixed it, but at a distance you can hardly tell at all, looks great for 7.50, heh.
