I used 5/16" female to male flare adapters and they thread perfectly into the water port on the RB25DET block and into the water ports on my GT3582R. I used a tiny amount of teflon tape, and they don't leak a bit.

So now I'm running steel brake lines prebent as my water lines, i plan on getting some SS goodrich stainless brake lines. You'll want to run 5/16" brake lines, the diameter of the hose is large enough that you will supply enough coolant to your chra. Pretty cheap, cost effective way of cooling your turbo (considering there are no top mount RB oil/water line kits available, though I was quoted $350 by a guy on freshalloy.)

So including the oil feed line I spent a total of $80 on lines for my turbo, pretty tight if you don't care how your line set up looks and if you favor HARD LINES

PS (i removed zip ties after adhesive stuck and i used safety wire every 3" to hold heat wrap on.

Its the gt3582r turbo.. I'm already using it, the lines work just fine and dont leak at all. I dont have to ziptie them out of the way or worry about them hitting anything because the fact that they're hard..

-1 for abs?

Well when i lowered my engine on the mounts i watched as the mount extensions bent which was pretty s***ty. Then my transmission mount holes didnt line up at all i had to re drill them.

i would use the proper thread fitting but thats me...otherwise not a bad idea.this is how i did mine...i have seen a few ka-t guys use brake lines for water lines, cheap and effective.i think my lines were about 30$ all in all to get done from the local hydro shop.

Anyone know the size for the coolant sensor that goes to the gauge cluster? Im installing a WaterTemp gauge and it came with 1/8" threads, it came with some adaptors but all WAY to bigI was thinking m10 or m12? Autometer sells the 1/8 to 10mm or 12mm adaptors so i was going to just order one upOr is it better to hook the sensor into the coolant drain place on the side of the motor?

Got all my gauges wired in, just need this guy to work!

@MattI just used a bushing (M12? to 1/8 pipe - will verify) and tapped my manifold. Both original Nissan and Defi senders are next to each other.

I'm not a fan of the 'inline' style, purely due to aesthetics, but some people swear by them. To each eis own.

doesnt the gt35r have an m14x1.5 coolant threading? are you cross threading that brake line in there or is it the proper thread?

Yeah it does... no i was able to hand thread the fitting 80% of the way in. the rest of the way was with a wrench till the seat of the fitting was flush with the chra surface.. Same for the rb25 block. I took the fittings out the other day and they threads looked fine on both the fitting and the old banjo still t hreaded in fine as well. I was pretty surprised that the npt matched the metric so closely.

wait are you cramming the flare fitting into the chra with the nut?if so then toss that idea out the window as its proly just bottoming out against the chra and will result in no coolant flow.you need to use the proper flare fitting adaptor to make it work...a hydro shop should be able to get the parts you need.

Carl: they're not bottoming out, the lines were full of coolant and i measured the depth of the hole with the thread height on the flare fitting, shoudl be fine..

Gawdzilla: you should come to the dyno tonight, i'm having my car tuned.. really excited!

So if you're just using a flare fitting, what is keeping the coolant from leaking past the flare? I'm with CarlH on how that flare is meeting resistance...it is likely bottoming out on something otherwise it would never get tight on the tubing.

To do it right, you should have used a metric to flare adapter fitting and a inverted flare tube nut to screw into the back of it.
