My motor sounds like it running on 3 cylinders, did a compression test an nearly no compressin cyl 2 Could the timing being off cause this or do you think the piston rings are gone? Also their seems to be alot of pressure an white smoke coming out of the oil filler cap when removed?

Is you're headgasket blown? Do you have milk chocolately ovaltine in your radiator? What's the compression across the board?

cyl 1, 3 & 4 is at 145psi an cyl 2 is round 50psi? No water ok an no frot on oil filler cap. The car been lying up for awhile an took it out for a spin an seen smoke leaving the vents on the bonnet. Pulled in an seen it had come from the oil breather pipe from tee on rocker cover to induction i had disconnected, it was after letting a big bust of oil out on to the manifold. Then it started runnin on 3 cylinders?

I couldn't understand your second sentence, care to rephrase? Did you check the oil for coolant and the coolant for oil?

Sounds like you have a damaged piston or damaged piston rings. Poor a cap full of oil in the bad cylinder and repeat the compression test.

Tried pouring a cap full of oil into the weak cylinder 2day an it raised the compression from 45psi to 100psi. Does this mean it's the piston or rings that's damaged ?

yes it can be a few thing1. broken piston ring2. cracked piston ringland3. bent or sticking valve

good luck

Well seeing as he just poured a cap full of oil in the cylinder, I'd rule out a bent or sticking valve... Most likely its damaged ring's, ringland's, or piston...

if you take the oil cap off while the car is running and there is smoke coming out that is piston blow by to find out exactly what is wrong you would have to take apart the engine. if it is only one cylinder then i thing you need a new piston cuz piston rings usualy were about the same unless you sucked a piece of dirt into just the one cylinder.
