I need a fuel rail for my '84 200SX w/ an older CA, and I'm curious if the injectors are setup the same way as they are on the newer CA18DETs... I know the heads are different (obviously) and thus the intake/exhaust port sizes are probably different... but what about the fuel rail? If they have the same spacing and can be used on the older motor, anyone have a factory fuel rail & damper laying around they want to sell me?

Thanks,

have a shot from further away? And are they equally spaced? The earlier CA18ET engine has then spaced weird... 1 & 2 are closer then 2 & 3 as are 3 & 4... hard to describe... but it would look like this...

<1>....<2>............<3>....<4>

Rather than

<1>......<2>......<3>......<4> like on the SRs and all... =(

I haven't got another shot no but they are equally spaced at 91.5mm on the UK manifold/fuel rail.

I think the JDM manifold is different as it has 8 port intake, UK only has 4.

Ah, good point... =) Anyone have a photo of a JDM CA18DET fuel rail off the car or a good closeup shot of it on the engine? I'm trying to see the spacing between the injector ports...

Thanks,

i 'think' it's the same WRT spacing just offset to one side, but honestly not sure for certain.

Just send someone out to measure their fuel rail with a vernier. :)

I'm sure the bosses for the injectors are longer on your rail than mine?I think mine are only about as lons as the bit at the bottom of yours....looks like yours have been extended?

tho I could be wrong....I've only seen my rail a couple of times....

yes probably, mine have been extended to take different injectors. you can just about see where the extra bits (about 8mm IIRC) have been welded on.

That's why i said it was a modified fuel rail. :)
