well from what ive read about it so far the VR38 shares no major parts with the VQ engine family so its basicly designed only for the GT-R, so the idea of it being swapped into a z33 because they may share like componets really is way off course. the VR38's are individually hand assembled by twelve craftsman at Nissans Yokohama plant so with that being said and with the base price estimated at $75,000 im sure the engine alone will sell for a crazy price. im guessing somewhere between 10 to 20k just for the motor. i really would like to see someone pull off the swap but the more i read about the car the more im thinking its not going to happen. the rear mounted transaxle combines the GT-Rs transmission, torque splitter, and rear differential in one unit. the six speed dual clutch automatic changes gears 0.2 second after the shift paddle is actuated, with no interruption in power delivery. not to mention the damn thing has six, yes six driveshafts and the rear lsd is electronically controlled. if a shop can pull this swap off i would be really shocked and happy at the same time.
