OK guys i got the question to end the year with. How long after the new GT-R comes out will we be seeing the VR38 swapped into a S13 or S14? i mean come on twin turbo 473 hp @ 64000 rpms, 434 lb-ft torque @ 3200 rpms, and with a redline @ 7000 rpms this thing is going to be a beast.

provided there's some rich bastard out there with a 240 shell waitin to pick up the motorset... I'm sure the motor will not be cheap. Some company will build it as their shop car and it will appear in magazines.

...hmm, I wonder if it will end up in a 350z first?

...sold my 91 Pathfinder, made good on it with very little work, so once again I'm looking for another car to flip, so if anyone knows of something let me know... I may have found something but not sure about it yet.

Random as hell but speaking of motor swaps. Anyone here ever seen / ridden in a 240 with a RB26dett motor? Everytime I see a video of one I almost cream my pants. I would like to see one in person one day, thats why I gotta make it to NOPI next year haha.

If I could afford one, and then had the time and money to be without a car I would have it swapped into the 240 I have now. But better yet...why would you want to mess with a perfectly good car?

Although that sounds like a wonderful idea, I'm kinda leaning towards what Maxima278 says. Even if you were LUCKY enough to catch wind of the actual incident; I'm sure no one is coming off the motorset for less than $10K! Now factor in the fabrication of one-off pieces and various other mods to the car to make it all work reliably! More than likely some rich company like Top Secret or HKS will swap one into a z33 since they share more like components for an overall lower cost swap.

well from what ive read about it so far the VR38 shares no major parts with the VQ engine family so its basicly designed only for the GT-R, so the idea of it being swapped into a z33 because they may share like componets really is way off course. the VR38's are individually hand assembled by twelve craftsman at Nissans Yokohama plant so with that being said and with the base price estimated at $75,000 im sure the engine alone will sell for a crazy price. im guessing somewhere between 10 to 20k just for the motor. i really would like to see someone pull off the swap but the more i read about the car the more im thinking its not going to happen. the rear mounted transaxle combines the GT-Rs transmission, torque splitter, and rear differential in one unit. the six speed dual clutch automatic changes gears 0.2 second after the shift paddle is actuated, with no interruption in power delivery. not to mention the damn thing has six, yes six driveshafts and the rear lsd is electronically controlled. if a shop can pull this swap off i would be really shocked and happy at the same time.

well guys.. its been a while since ive been in here.

so i thought id give a lil update.

things are not looking up..problems problems problems..

subframe bushings still not fixedpoly bushings still not installedpower steering leak still bad.. and not fixed

and did a compression test today.. since im going through at least a quart of oil every 3-4 weeks+ excessive light blue smoke out the tail pipe from time to time

180195*170*190

...so.. yeah.. im pretty sure its the ring on cyl #3.. i really don't wanna rebuild.so i guess that leaves me with swapping. since its only gonna get worse.

would anyone happen to have a spare KADE laying around that runs good?for cheep?

i cant decide if i should drive around like this for a while..and save for the SR .. or just swap in another KA..

so yeah.. 240s are a b*tch...

oh.. and the only upside the the past few weeks..i got to drive a really nice modded 350z..OMG!!!!!.. i want one now..evn more so than before

Those numbers aren't bad, most likely your valve stem seals are going bad.

Its a 240 if its not leaking power steering fluid there is a problem, hell my 97 leaks power steering fluid.

Stop being lazy and pick a weekend (4 day weekend at least and don't forget a torch and a hack saw ) and get to work on thoes bushings.

Oh yeah, but my stuff: zerothread?id=297197

Other than the fact that one of the pins is bent and the clips are missing, they are in good shape, the only reason I pulled them was because I swapped on a set of 30mm callipers.

fella here in fayetteville has a 2jz swap with a super single attached. one thing is right, they make nice dyno queens..you cant unleash that kind of horsepower on a regular basis, never catch. yess, highway runs blister your face off like standing behind a jet engine......soooooooo fast
