Wow that is a stumper, beyond the head gasket there is nothing else I can think of, but the head gasket could do both of those symptoms. The idle would go up if air is able to come in through where the head gasket is bad and your computer is trying to compensate with more fuel so it makes the RPMs go up. If that is not it I have no other ideas. Sorry I couldn't be of more help...

Just be lucky you don't live in Cali where you could have spent enough gas to buy a whole car! lol

Well in Cali, places are within walking/bike riding distance. Remember, we live in the Boonies

Is it just me or is the hood crooked in the last picture or is that because of the steering wheel probably the wheel, but I just wanted to check.

Well you should have gone the extra mile...jk It looks good but I guess the reason you can't really see the hood is because of the shade, but other than that good pics and the car is coming along nicely.

yeah its a real project car, look at all those little dents and how it was painted right over the red paint without even sanding it down. i want to paint it soon becuase i can use the paint booth at work and all i have to do is buy the paint and pull all the dents and use a little bondo.

I just sold this one 30 minutes ago. See how shiny Brandon and I got it after we detailed the hell out of it? Now for a moment of silence for the departed:

Gregg, I hate to break it to you, but you do realize that all of that gray paint is going to have to come off right? Otherwise you are going to have the same problem all over again. My front bumper on my S14 was never sanded (before I owned it, and now it's coming off down to the plastic.

Good news is that if you can do all the work it won't cost much at all. It's just a hell of a lot of work, especially from what I can see already on yours. I bet a lot of that paint will come off with a razor blade. The color looks good, I like that gray. The wheels look better than I thought they would too.

Do yall think this would be a good deal?:http://atlanta.craigslist.org/car/318432256.html

the guy said he'd come down to $1800 on it, which is a bit more than I really have to spend, but I got a hookup on paintjobs, and I have a back bumper and a steering wheel, the only thing I'd need is a dash and maybe a few front suspension pieces, which maybe I could talk dalzell out of from his parts car...

wow you mean i have to get the paint off? jk. we have sanders at work and i know better than to paint over old paint, im just shocked that some moron did that to the car because its really a nice color but because they were to lazy and or to stupid to sand it and primer it im going to have to do it right and hope i can get the same color paint for a good price, or a may just paint it white with a blue pearl. those rims are the ones i took off my accord and im planning on putting the 18's i got from Pat on my accord.

Well, i havent been on in the past few days. Been a bit busy. Car is still running like pure crap. It went from running bad when i got it to having most of it fixed and now back to smoking and bad idling. Saturday after work im going to take it to a local shop that has done all of my friends cars and get the FPR checked. I dont want them doing the work though because i'd for me to do all the work. Im just going to sell this thing this summer after its fixed and take care of some other work it needs.

I'll just buy a 200 over there. They're quite cheap if you ask me. Tune up, Upgrade the Turbo, add a few more parts to get it in the 230-250 range and im set.

Well, I ended up letting it go before I really started working on it, and I got $1500 for it. Which is not bad for an automatic 91, I think.

Well i went to the U-Pull It and there is a brand new Piggy sitting there with only the sunroof and pass fender gone. No rust, spoilerless, but auto. Lady says they want 500 for it. Wish i had the money. Im thinking of picking up the fuel pump and the cover and everything i need and possibly the hatch for $35. Will a SOHC FPR work on a DOHC?

And as i was entering there at the corner of my eye at a shop next door was a Purple Pignose. I went over to ask but they said its a customer car. Pure stock too. Must be an extremely rare color

Congrats James!

Turstin. I got a message from Gueido about picking up my wheels this weekend. I sent a message back saying that that would work out great. I won't be here next weekend.

Actually I have a job interview in Boston MA Wednesday so I may have to move up there and it would be great to get those wheels out of the way.

ok guys I need some advice.. I was thinking about picking up another 240 and trying to make a profit on it. It's a 95 with 151k, 5 speed, base model, AC, sunroof, power everything, supposedly has a new clutch and shocks. It has an aftermarket n1 style exhaust and some type of cold air intake. The interior is ok, but could use some attention.

I talked the guy down to $1500 on it. It needs new bumpers (which I have) the headlights and grill realigned, a minor dent in the rear quarter panel bondoed, front fender replaced ($50 on craigslist), and the whole car repainted. The airbags are blown (I have a good steering wheel, and a new dash is $275 from craigslist). Throwout bearing is howling so it must be replaced. There is something wrong with the front suspension where the guy hit a curb, it steers horribly, so I'd have to talk to dalzell240 about getting front end parts from his parts car.

You know what, holy crap thats a long list of stuff. About $1000 worth. Never mind.

Yea James, As much as you and I love 240's its not worth it. I think you should just stick to the ones you have and finish those first.
