Bad News Guys/Girls

after 2 new thermostats, water pump, both temp sensore, coolant, more coolant, bleeding and more bleeding, new radiator, new hoses that didn't help any.so were gonna pull the motor from the red parts car and from the black one, and drop the one from the parts car in the black car, and basically rebuild the stock motor from the black car because it probably needs a timing chain and a head gasket

typeZEROs14 - yeah that was me. i was bored and headed to ceasars head and went through paris mountain first. its always cool to meet people who run in the mountains. you ever go down to woodruff road on sundays? i might head out to spartanburg tomorrow or something to check that out.

celica was white i think.

turstin - oh yeah, brandon did clock the turbo, he is making an elbow, welding a pipe on the manifold for that wastegate, and making some of those piece for the intercooler piping since the gtr turbo is different than every other t28 haha

well if your oil is all milky looking then im pretty sure you have a blown hg. you can always just run no thermostat, it will just run cold all the time. a friend of mine ran his car like that for a year or so. just an option.

paris mountain is fun to just cruise through the first part of it, but its a residential road. we have had a close call or two with the law up there. the last part is fun and there arent many houses on that section. but ceasars head isnt to far, probobly about 20 minutes or so from paris and its an awesome road. we def need to get a little meet going and have a bunch of 240s up there.

this is the gauge pod i made so we can monitor, instead of the dummy lites

this is the finished product, looks a little better now that it mounted

this was the machining process

from this: a 8 x 2 piece or 1/8? inch alluminumto this holes cut and painted blackto this with gauges in it was based on the sunpro gauge pod that came with the gauges but that wouldnt fit under the radio properlyENJOY!

Hey Pat,Just got in today from Reno. I was trying to catch up on everyone's post for the week.

I pulled out the FSM I have (it is an 89 240 FSM, but I think the codes are the same).

Code 12 - Air Flow Meter curcuit

Code 21 - Ignition signal missing in primary coil

Both of these are listed in Mode II... I think that is what you said it was in.. right?

Code 12 - that MAF again... seeing as how (I forgot who you got the car from) but they said the MAF was a known good one.... and the one I sent you was a known good MAF. It might be worth making sure the harness plug is not damaged. I would also trace the wiring to make sure you don't have a short somewhere....

Code 21 - The ignition coil harness is located on the fender (wire running from coil pack to it). I thought I remember you doing some tune up stuff not long ago. I would check all the connections and make sure something didn't get jarred. It would also be worth while getting some electrical gel and put it in those connections (keeps corrosion at bay). If you;re gonna unplug them you might as well clean them and put some gel to make sure it;s not from there

Hope this helps man... let me know if I can help ya out....

Hey Gregg,Give me a call on Sunday. I should be around the house all day. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but by the time you replied I was already gone to training. I didn't take my laptop this time (real pain trying to get in and out of security. I also didn't want to check bags so I couldn't take another one. If you want you can come down and help me with my swap (at least the putting of pedals and clutch MC and putting in hard lines). We could also get the wiring stuff done. That way you have a better understanding of what needs to be done. I'm gonna do it myself, I bet after you see one done you'll want to do yours and save the money (put it towards the motor). Give me a call on Sunday if you see this post soon enough.... the jet lag is kicking my *ss, so I'll be heading off to bed soon.

Chat at ya later,

I was looking at some 5-lug conversion and the cheapest I have found is $600 from phase2motorsports and I was wondering if anybody else knows where I would be able to find them cheaper. I am trying to get all the prices together for my car before I purchase it so I know what I am getting myself into.

Seems like people want a lot of money for those used 5 lug hubs. And I thought I heard that the rears on an S14 would not work without modifications... I'd try to go for the new parts if you can afford it. $500 seems like the best deal I've seen
