I used to surf cast everyday for stripers over the summer when i was little. Wake up and go before sunrise. I miss getting to fish in the ocean everyday its way more challenging then fishing for bass in my backyard. I get out on my friends boat every few weeks but still not enough.

I grew up fishing ponds & small lakes for bass from the shore. Still love to do it.I used to do a lot of striper fishing at lake Norman in the nuclear discharge canal. Great place to fish if you are boatless like me! Lots of schooling bass there too which make for fast/fun top water action.

I have a little 2.5 hp outboard on my row boat. It gets me around the lake fairly well, i love going out on calm nights after work and throwin a topwater bait out and working it in. But rubber worms without any weights just worked in slowly seem to work the best in most of the conditions. I'll try and upload some pics when i get home from work.

my biggest bass (9 pounds) was caught while in a rowboat in a small pond using a purple worm! Creme used to make a series of worms 'blood worms' that had a dark center core that bass could not pass on.

Chris, I need some new hats!!!

With all due respect - That is the bait, right? I use 12 to 15 lb bluefish for bait when we go tuna fishing next month in the canyon off of Cape Cod!

I was wondering if you were going to check in....knowing the meaning behind BENTROD.

Yeah, I know. I have friends that moved down from up north that own a local jewelry store here and they have pics of the HUGE tuna that they've boated. They said they would have it sold before they hit the dock..but, no I did catch it on my fishing rod.

You might like this one that I caught last year! LEAN INTO THE MONITOR!

We go to the coast in November for spec trout in the surf. 7ft 1 piece rods with 10lb line. This isn't a spec trout, but a SMALL puppy drum.

Can you tell I like to fish!!!

LMFAO - you are a piece of work. If I could figure out how to insert pictures I'd send you some fishing pics. Wonder if NICO would let us start a Fishing Forum?

Were you at OBX? I'm asking b/c all that talk about closures has got me worried. I haven't been down since April, but I'm probably going in August.I usually go to Oregon Inlet, right there on 12 before you hit the bridge, ORV ramp 4.

Don't know, never got drunk enough to try! Maybe next year!! I'm sure you could fry it up & put some hot sauce on it!!

Bentrod,We catch stripers down here too. That's a nice one! Haven't been out deep sea fishing. Pier/surf/sound.

Have landed a 14 pound False Albacore (little tunny) on the pier before with fairly light tackle!!! Hooked it in the suds and had to run to the end of the pier to keep up! Finally got it in. Was throwing a double bucktail rig. Love fish'n!!!

Funny cuz i had a love for fishing when i was a kid.. that is all we did was fish in the area pond. Now that im older... well i think i rather master.... with sandpaper lol

I even have a boat that can go 20 miles off shore and but still don't want to do it. I even have people wanting to pay for the bait and gas to take them fishing and don't care too!

I like to take the boat out and go diving lol. I use a Hawian Sling to shoot fish. Much faster than fishing lol

I grew up with a creek and a swamp directly behind my house!Creek dumped into two ponds that we used to fish all of the time growing up! Started off with cane poles and eventually got some spinning gear. The last day we were at the beach I spent from 10AM to 7PM standing in the surf fishing. Yeah, I still like it!
