I've had my M37s since December 2013 and the trial XM radio has expired however I still get weather alerts, weather maps, etc. I thought this expired with the trial XM. Not complaining just wondering.

Had same situation with my Cadillac CTS. NAV Weather is free. It is part of the Navigation system.... Traffic Updates requires payment. Went round and round with XM on this point. They finally acknowledge this point.

I believe mine only works when XM is offering a free promotion like they are doing now.

Ugh, can't get mine to work at all. Kinda figured both the traffic and weather would be a pointless feature but since I'm about to go on a long trip through some metro areas, I thought I'd activate both and see how they work. Neither feature has worked since I bought the car. If I select Traffic on the info screen, I just get a message "XM NavTraffic subscription required" and I'm not allowed access. If I select Weather, I just get a message "XM NavTraffic subscription required" and I'm not allowed access.

Anyway, I've been on the xm website (to subscribe) and on and off of the phone with them all afternoon (about an hour and a half in the car with it running). The last guy I talked to just gave up and said there's something wrong with my car and to take it to my dealer. Since there's no dealer close to me, I told him to cancel the service I had JUST signed up for.

Anyway, any ideas? Am I missing something?

My nav works just fine as my XM has been expired, thinking about getting it put back in but that's in the not to far near future, other mods are being planned as we speak :chuckle:

Just to be clear, my Navigation works fine. As does all other points of my system except Traffic and Weather.

About an hour after that post, I drove the car for an errand and about 30 seconds after starting the car the display flashed a message "Xm navtraffic subscription expired". So I guess the car got the 'subscription canceled' message or whatever it is they do. Thinking I'll give it another go tomorrow.

Trey-Move to San Diego, that will turn off the weather alerts.

Actually I believe you can disable the alters in the settings menu.
