Wattup folks.
I ordered the newest NavTeq DVD for my 07 M35X. I am replacing the original Mac DVD. My question is probably a stupid one, but to update it do I just put the new DVD in and let it load from that ? Is there something special that I need to do ?

Take out the old NavTeq DVD, and insert the new one. It will load up with all applicable updates pertaining to your new DVD. That's it! :)

The DVD, obviously, stays in the car though. You won't see any actual update process. It'll just load the maps and be done with it.

Is this update worth it? Is it just updated maps or are there system updates?

It is really up to you if you feel the update is worth it. For myself, having the disc up-to-date is very important. The updated disc is just updated streets, places of interest, etc. There are no system updates regarding the look of the system, also you aren't able to change any settings differently. I still like the navigation from the Navteq Disc better than the phone apps like Google Navigation and Waze (even though Waze has very cool real-time system layers and notifications).

Nothing beats Garmin (I had a Kenwood DNX8120 that was EPIC). But that being said...this updates things like fast food joints, gas stations, etc.

So, in my opinion, it's worth it.
