Navigation update cd/dvd

i have an 2005 Armada with navi, but am looking to get the update cd/dvd for it, i have seen that there is an 6.7 update cd or a 7.2/3 update dvd. i think the 6.7 is for the 05' and the 7.2/3 is for the 07' and newer, will the 7.2/3 work with the 05' model? Does anyone know what the difference is between the two, besides the format? Any help on this by anyone would be great.

According to NAVTEQ, they are on version 6.9 now.

As for the 7.x, I believe they are not compatible with systems using 6.x.
