Navigation Unit question

Will the Navigation unit from a Q45 2003 fit in a Q45 2002?

The screens are a different size, I believe.
But, imho, I have much more enjoyed have a garmin nuvi with all the features.
THe problem is if you 'update' your only getting 2006(last yr) technology. GPS has come a long way in 6 or 10 yrs.

The garmin have some of the smallest stands/holders for their nuvi series.
Withuot cutting or sticking anything to the dashboard, I have a permanet mount just at the top of the driverside a/c vent. The Garmin just touches the piller.


The nuvi has a small quick release that is a snap, so I just reach up, click and drop it in the drivers door pocket. The mount and power stay in place.

hi mcrews - since my stereo is not powering on i'm looking to replace the entire panel sys with the one listed below on ebay and just need to know if it will be a direct swap...i pretty much use my HTC EVO for GPS/directions and thks for the reply

I have ordered used center panel twice from 'wrecker lots'. the tend to ripe stuff out then claim its all there.

So ask for a pic of what they are REALLY sending.

You know by now, the 'radio' is the thing in the consol right abouve the ash tray. 02 had a tqpe deck front, 03 had a cd front. Of course you want all the wires out to the plugs not cut. And you of course want the screen AND all the harness.

go tp the fsm and pull up the radio section. send them the pages circling what you are expexting

But the simple answer is yes, it should fit.

looks like the audio unit (radio- head) is in the glove box w/ tape player!!!!
looks like the just moved the 02 unit into the glove box
then the cd player is just that, only a cd player.
then the nav unit is in the trunck below the amp

note: that is not a 'bass' amp as many here have stated. That amp is for the entire speaker system all 8 or 11 what ever. you can tell because all the speaker line run uot the back of it.
There is no sub-amp.

I still think the 'sreen might fit' because you have the nav system in the o2?

The dealer is more familiar with the wiring harness and plausible upgrade paths.
