2012 M37. Are the weather and traffic maps attached to satellite radio ? Or do they function without. I'm now on an All Access trial and don't want to lose those features by going to a different subscription. Any help is appreciated.

I am 99% sure it is only available with the satellite subscription. Mine only works when the satellite is on free preview.

Weather and traffic (green/red lines) are tied to a subscription (I pay for it as part of my satelite radio sub). Regular maps are stand-alone and run about $80-140 depending on if you buy them during a sale, etc.

Yeah, I think I have to have sat radio. But which subscription? Do they only work with All access. I actually use these maps and don't want to lose them by choosing the wing programming.
I have a lifetime subscription in my other car that is Select. Sirius doesn't offer that anymore

I'm not sure, my only subscription is SiriusXM Satelite Radio + NavWeather and NavTraffic.

Yes, as said above, you have to pay extra if you want the Traffic and Weather feature on your Nav. I decided not to include those features on my last Sirius renewal. For me the traffic warnings were never on the roads I was driving (I'm fortunate that I don't need to drive the Interstate to get to work) and the Weather - well, I can tell whether its raining or not, and if I'm already out driving there's not much I can do anyways if a weather alert comes up.

So true. The only time I remember my traffic alert helping me was once or twice when a huge accident was reported and I decided that was a good time to stop for a meal while the accident is cleared. Usually though, it's on long treks to the north. EG: I am on I-95 north in an obscure place like "Cat's Head, NC" with next exit in 30 miles and an alert tells me there is slow traffic in 30 miles. I see the alert, scratch my head, and realize that I have no options. So I ignore it, shrug, and hope the traffic goes faster by the time I get there. As for the weather, does it really matter if I know it will soon rain? I'm inside a car that has windscreen wipers so exactly how worried should I be?
Do I still keep the all-access + weather and traffic? Of Course ! LOL

From what I can tell from the Sirius website, Nav Traffic and Weather are channels in their lineup. I don't need the channels bc I am not traveling in those Metro areas. But, you guys think that feature also enables the traffic and weather maps within the Infiniti Nav system. I am a distinct manager and I travel to 9 offices in 7 different cities, from mid Carolinas to the mountains. These features really help me plan my routes, especially in winter when roads become icy.
The rep from Sirius was absolutely no help. Maybe I can call back and get a better trained, better informed person that can give me answers.
Thanks for the replies so far.

This may be a bit off topic but perhaps helpful; If you're wondering why there isn't traffic flow info (green, yellow, red lines) for most areas outside major cities and sometimes incomplete coverage even within the market areas, it is a function of the outdated Navtraffic. Seems Sirius has TWO traffic data sources which are called NavTraffic and Sirius XMtraffic. XMtraffic has much more coverage area than Navtraffic. Which one you get is dependent on the make/model of your car. Nissan/Infiniti get NavTraffic EXCEPT on the new Q50. That's getting XMtraffic. Looks like Infiniti is slowly making it's way to converting over to XMtrafiic. NavTraffic flow sucks! I'm in Connecticut and the only coverage is rt95 from NY to Bridgport. If you live in Hartford you would think the traffic flow is not working - it is but no coverage for Rt 84, Rt 91, Rt 2, Rt 8, Rt 15. Just about worthless.

Final thoughts - I subscribed to Sirius Select and did not elect Nav traffic or Weather. None if those features now work. Even with Sirius All acces, you have to add weather and traffic. Since summer weather is less critical, I'll save adding those until winter.

By "add" you mean pay extra? If so how much? I have zero intention of getting it, just curious.

I have XM select (it's a 6-month offer) and the Nav and weather are included.

I suggest getting the special offers and the other stuff gets thrown in :chuckle:

You do not need the satellite radio subscription to have the traffic and weather alerts. You can subscribe to these services without needing the satellite radio subscription. I have been doing this for years with my old G35x and when i sold the car and picked up my M56x, i had it setup the same way.

Speaking of which, did they offer complimentary satellite radio over this past holiday weekend?

The NavTraffic is $3.99 per month. Traffic and weather together is $7.00 a month. Here is the link:

Honestly, the traffic is useless. Waze does a far better job and will actually notify you of reported cops. Why anyone would pay for weather is beyond me.

It's pretty slick to show off to your friends who think Infiniti is a budget car lol.
