My 90Q lost the fan belt idler at 160m and with everything else going or gone I traded for a 2001 Q45t. It goes like hell just like the old one and sits much better but the con job they gave me about the nav system really ticks me off. Dealer wants to take credit for the super nav system but says the super system isn't his when I complained about the grand they want me to pay for the extra cd discs. When I tried to get good will assistance for loyalty they accused me of trying to get something for nothing. Then I told them they were crazy for charging $ 125 for a disc that was worth $25 at most. The conversation went down hill from there. As I see it now you pay to get a nav system in the larger models that run from dvd with no added expense or you pay to get the old nav system in the smaller model and then have to spend another grand or so to make the old technology work. Is there anyone out there willing to sell or trade copies of the discs? I need 5,6,7,and 8.

BMW and some other navigation systems require the purchase of different discs for different regions.

Thats just lame compared to the single DVD method. The only reason to store different regions on separate DVDs is to milk more money out of the customer.

What dealer was this?

Are you looking to upgrade to the latest version of the Discs or replace missing discs?

Either way, if it's used then it's up to you to pay for the software.

I think I'd think seriously about a $499 Garmin GPS before springing 1000 for some CD's for an out of date NAV system.

I just want to replace missing discs. Don't need the latest.

I would wonder if the newer DVD system would plug-in?

If you just want to replace the old discs, I think it's going to be uncomfortable to sit down for awhile.

I agree. For $1000 you can get some really nice navigation hardware from Harmon Kardon (which would even include a nice upgrade for your stereo). Or you could get a Garmin GPS but they are a PAIN to use. I just returned mine.
