Does anyone have information on how to fix a G35 navigation pop up screen? When the button is pushed the screen raises up, as it should, but it either A)Doesn't turn on the video screen or B)Doesn't lock in place and from there just drops back down into the dash. Either way it raises and then immediately drops back down.

Ya know..... I have the same problem with the window too.... and one of the seat motors..... on second thought anyone want to buy a 2005 G35

Seriously though if you have answers to any of the problems above. Especially the Nav problem Please help me out. Im begging over here.

ThanksRobert

There's no need to beg we'll usually do what we can to help.

In regards to the NAV screen. ITB07-021 addresses this concern. The unit needs to be taken apart and the motor and track assembly gets replaced. If your VIN fits into the range of APPLIED VEHICLE: 2005-2006 G35 (V35)APPLIED VIN(S):Vehicles built before: JNKCV51E(*)6M516358JNKCV51F(*)6M612147JNKCV54E(*)6M712927APPLIED DATE(S):Vehicles built before: March 1, 2006

The window motor timing may be out of adjustment of the auto function may be lost by the motor assembly. It's not too uncommon, as the parts have been updated several times.

You say your seat motor doesn't work? If you can provide a little more detail I may be able to point you in the direction of the failed/failing component.

All of these should be covered under you basic warranty if you are still within the given mileage you should have no problem.

You sir are AWESOME!

Thank you. All the seat switches work except for the front elevator and of course its in the top most position.

As for the Nav system... since the dealer wants 800.00 I was thinking of just installing a Pioneer AVIC-F90bt. It has a few more features and it will look more like the 37 when its installed professionally by me.

Im a bit of a perfectionist on certain things and thats why these little problems bug me so badly.

Thanks Again.

Try spraying contact cleaner inside the seat switchs. Their location yeilds soda, coffee and whatever liquid may be residing in the cup holder to get into the switch and cause it to stop working correctly.

Yeah me too I have taken every trim panel in my car out that contains any source of light to remove the little covers, but that's on an older car. I am the same way.

Regarding the nav screen issue. I had the exact thing happen to me at 22,000 miles so way to new to be having that problem.

Mine would rise up stop and immediately lower down.

It was covered under warranty but the dealer said the power supply box had the correct input but no output...whatever that means.

They replaced the navigation power supply box assembly, which solved the problem. This was a $1,265 repair that I am thankful was under warranty.

Hopefully, yours is under warranty as well.

Good luck.

Contact spray worked great. It took a couple days (yes days) letting it soak in, but little by little it started working again. Thanks Steve

Did you ever get the NAv issue resolved? I have the same exact problem.

Obviously the solution is the service bulletin mentioned earlier; however if you're out of warranty the bill may be a little tough to swallow.

Another "solution" is this method:
when the screen starts to rise - about 1/3 of the way up
gently push down on the top of the Nav screen to lower the screen about 1/2 inch
if you catch it just right , the screen will continue up and then stay up.
This method make take a while to master, but so far it works for me.
