Hey!

I hear that this is an issue with lots of Nissan's.... but I am surprised I wasn't able to find anything on it! Am I missing a setting or something? I am amazed that Nissan wouldn't have found a way to prioritize the phone calls over the navigation voice prompts...

Thanks!

My 2011 does this as well, i think it is resolved in later Bluetooth iterations. My brother has a 2014 Silverado Denali and it doesn't do this.

My '08 Mercedes didn't do this at all.. nor does most of the cars that I drive for work.. i have just been really surprised as it is a priority issue that would be a simple setting fix if Nissan ever actually got around to doing this...

So I am guessing there is no way to fix this... UGH! It really is absolutely horrible as I use my car for work!

FWIW- I have read up on different forums for different brands of cars. The one theme in common no matter what we purchase- we are never happy 100% of the time and will always find things we don't like, or think are wrong, or broken.

Just as you would complain that the Navigation overrides a phone call with voice, there would be some that would complain if the navigation didn't override the phone call and you missed your turn and got lost. It is all perception on what works for you as to the right or wrong way to "build it". Personally I am not going to sweat it if my call gets interrupted by my navigation- because if I am running my navigation its because I don't have a clue where I am and I probably don't belong on the phone distracted.

I definitely do understand your point... and obviously you do not use your car for work...

I travel 30,000 miles every year and travel in a variety of cars from Chryslers, Fords, Chevy's, Mitsubishi's... ect... pretty much anything that the lots have. The one thing in all of these vehicles is the prioritization of bluetooth over the stereo (same as this car), normally except for this one over the navigation... as when you are speaking on a phone call you are doing so for a reason.

I certainly understand your point... and obviously Nissan thought about this as there is the heads up display that shows your navigation route.

When I am speaking on the phone.... and I lose 5-7 seconds fully of a conversation over and over because the car want to remind me that in 300 meters (or whatever it might be telling you) to stay left on the road.... it certainly does get irritating.

Lastly... and again it seems like you do not run your car for an actual purpose.... I run my navigation a fair bit for the traffic updates as I live in a high density area... so I certainly am not distracted... normally I run my navigation so I am not distracted looking at street signs. I am not sure about you being on the phone... but I am able to speak while driving.

Sorry if this sounds harsh.. you certainly have lived up to your name of being a "lurker" you just honestly have nothing to add to this conversation at all!!

I will just speak to Nissan directly.

How about this my snarky little friend :) take this book link, and read it. http://nissanrogue.org/download/2014-Ni ... manual.pdf

It has this crazy thing on page 3-9 that will tell you how to turn the voice to your navigation off.

Voice Guidance Select to toggle on or off the voice guidance on map screen. Then, when you are done ... you know what you can do with that book :) lol

Not a problem my not helpful friend :) If you notice my question isn't how to turn off the voice navigation it is how to make this navigation like all other vehicles on the road today that prioritizes the phone over all other radio functions.

I can definitely think of somewhere to shove it... but I don't know where you live...

Well, you can be sure if I gave you my address so you could shove it- your navigation would prioritize me above your phone call ;) lol

So just these ones... interesting that they wouldn't have done the same!

Hopefully it is just a setting issue in the computer that can be reset! I will definitely post up after I talk with Nissan more!
