I have recently purchased a used 2002 QX4. I was wondering what it would take to convert the factory stereo and climate controls into the factory navigation system. The big question I have is if the navigation system head unit is a direct plug in or if other components are necessary. I know the dash bezel would have to be changed. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

We had a similar question earlier( concerning a 97) and the consenus among out dealer reps was that a retrofit to would be prohibitvly expensive.

But a Navigation standalone unit, would be a much easier plan.

I know it would be expensive from a dealer parts counter, but my thoughts were to get this part from a salvaged car. I have received price quotes for a little as 650.00 for the unit. My concerns are obviously warrenty, but other parts needed to make the navigation unit work. I don't want to find out later that it need a 800.00 brain box.

Do we know if this is a complete unit?
