Navigation Override?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Is there a way to override the navigation system so that you can use all the features while the car is in motion?

thanks

Search the forums. A few people have done hacks for their Ms and Gs

One week into EX35 ownership and this is my biggest pet peeve. Why not let the passenger use the navigation system (and other features) while the vehicle is in motion?

Just curious.. do any other vehicles allow full use of the nav, and other features, while in motion?

Yes, my previous 2 Audi let you (or the passenger) do it after you acknowledge the on-screen disclaimer about no holding the manufacturer responsible or something like that.

The car "knows" when someone is in the passenger seat. It'd be nice if that also triggered a nav system override.

My '04 TSX allowed full use of the nav system after a similar disclaimer.

My 08 Acura TSX navigation is full-featured while the car is in Drive.

My 07 Lexus RX has a "secret" override that allows full-functionality, by pressing a sequence of positions on the touchscreen. Would be nice if Infiniti did that too!

My previous 09 Acura TL has full functions when driving. However, it makes sense since it doesn't offer DVD playback. The one in EX35 does. And while it blocks DVD play back when in motion, it conveniencely disables a few more too :)
