I wanted to know if I can purchase a factory navigation for an '05 Quest SE equipped with the Bose/DVD system and DIY. Will there be any adapters or modifications that I'd have to perform since it isn't equipped with OEM navigation? Please help!!

I am assuming that you have the "other display" (the orange letters) if you don't have navigation in your vehicle. For DIY navi install, I guess you could try, but I highly discourage you. You need to have the correct harness, you not only need the navigation unit, but you need as well the color display, as well as another unit that controls the color display.

Well answered best..... I personally don't think it would be much fun trying to install an oem navi system without the correct wiring.

Most Nissans make one standard harness per model. This means that the wiring should already be there, just not the components. I figure if you got the components, installation could be a breeze with the right information (FSM maybe).

jltibbs - don't mean to be a brat spoiler, but I just want to correct you about the harness. With so many options available in the vehicle, there could not be "one standard" harness per model. I can say this because it cost a lot of money to give away circuits that are needed - there could be some instances where I can see Nissan gives away harnesses, but to have just ONE STANDARD harness, just not a good business and engineering practice. Harness is one of the most complicated parts in the vehicle as the part number variations can go up exponentially depending on how many different options available in the vehicles. This is another reason why most car companies bundled options together to minimize variety in parts (in other terms, minimize Part Numbers).
