For chrsitmas my girlfriend is going to buy me a navigation unit. In dash units seem to be out of our price range so i have been thinking about the portable ones. Does anyone have one that fits in the car well? I was thinking i wanted to get one that fit well in the cubby above the stereo. Does anyone have any advice on a model that may fit well in there?

Thanks and happy holidaysRobbie

Most portable nav units are pretty small and should fit in that cubby quite easily. But, the simple thing to do would be to measure the cubby, then go look at the dimensions of each unit you are considering. You can usually find the dimensions on the manufacturer website, cnet, or just about any vendor who sells it online.

I have a Magellan 2200T that fits perfect. Wedges in the cubby tightly. Nice and loud so I can hear with the top down.
