Navigation, AC and audio FROZEN!! 07 M35

Hello all,
the navigation on my car keeps shutting off and along with it goes my ability to control the AC and Radio. I took the car into my mechanic and he said the problem is a $3800 part. Unfortunately, I didn't get any more info from him. I have done some research and it appears this is a common problem. Has anyone had this happen to their M before and successfully fixed the problem? I would much prefer to buy a used part and do the work myself, as the car isn't worth a +- $4000 repair bill...

So after doing some more research I decided to pull out the DVD Navigation unit from the glove box to ensure I was ordering the right part number. After doing so I realized one of the plugs from the wire harness was loose. I secured all three plugs (not sure the technical name) and took a test drive. It worked!!!! for now... Hopefully this fixes the problem.
