Hello All,
A local (Toronto) is selling a oem navi head unit and controls panel ( no touch screen) from a 11' G37x sedan and before i look at it i was wondering if any one has any experience changing out a non navi oem unit with a navi oem?
wondering if it is any easy swap or am i asking for trouble ie: passwords, connectors.....
Thanks

While anything is possible nobody has completely documented this process nor what is fully needed. I've seen where some were trying to get it installed and working but nothing concerning success or not. You would need the full nav unit and touch screen from the newest model you can find (for the most functionality) along with the front trim panel. If your current vehicle does not have phone integration you would need the panels and microphones for that as well. Then you would need the rear trim piece with backup camera. There may be some additional wiring or pig tails that would be needed as well...so....

Go through the FSM and compare a non-navi system wiring with a navi-system wiring to see and map out the differences. If you have access to Nissan FAST or know someone who does, then you can possibly trace the system and purchase all the pigtails you would need for integration. This should include any wiring for the microphones and the rear camera system. Once you have all parts, all wiring pigtails and have mapped everything out then it should be easy enough to install dependent on how much wiring needs to be added to the car.

Until someone does this and documents parts and steps I'll simply avoid it. I've thought about adding navi to my coupe but won't until I know what I'm getting into. I'll just wait until I replace this vehicle and get a navi-equipped next time.

Thanks for the response, my car (2010 X) has the bluetooth and back up camera.
Have to agree that i would rather have confirmation first before buying all the parts.
thanks again.

If you find any specifics then please post them here as well. I may look into this again at some point.
