not sure about a shop in Jersey but i would say its something you could do yourself in about 2-3 hours and $15. There are some really good write ups about it and many of us have done it and can help walk you through it.

Thank-you, I will look up the write-ups and try it...if any help is needed, I will post it...

If you have the write-ups and what I need to purchase for $15, that would be great...

well the write up is called the Ohmster hack. It will tell you all that you need and where you can order the DPDT on/on switch you will need. I got mine from mouser electronics online just like it suggested. It also tells you things you need like Cat 5 wire etc. It also suggests that you solder your wires but i just used male and female quick connectors and they worked great. You may want to research where you want to put your switch. Many put it in the "wallet/coin holder" spot, others in the center console or glove box, all have their pros and cons. I opted for the cigarette lighter location because it was very well hidden and i didnt have to drill any holes. The switch i used fit in absolutely perfectly as if i had drilled the hole for this switch. I also dont use the cigarette lighter for charging anything like a phone etc so it was a perfect spot for me, not to mention it looks so clean this way.

Since you said Hi after all, I will offer my help. I did mine myself. Works great. Actually, I noticed that if the car is real cold, like a freezing morning before it warms up, and I hit a bump it will blink off. I guess it is because of the temp, I actually only noticed it twice all winter. Has anyone else seen the same issue? Anyway, where in NJ are you?

Im in Ringwood, about an hour away away according to google. But it is straight up 287 which is 65mph mostly. I bet you can get to me in 45, ha. I have vacation the 12-16 of April but we could do it sooner especially if the weather gets nice. Wait, before we get ahead of ourselves what year M do you have?

Well I did the 06 and have all the tools and parts. I even have an extra switch, it is smaller since i hid mine where the plastic side panel and the carpet meet. Is there instructions on here for the 07, I never looked.

Nav hack for 06 and 07 models is the exact same. It begins to vary with the 08+ models.
