NAV system region/zone question

Is there a way to customize the region/zone that the NAV system loads before displaying a route? I live in NJ and do a siginifcant amount of traveling to PA, and unfortunately NJ and PA are in separate regions, so every time I cross into the other state, I need to switch regions on my NAV before I can program the next route. I'd love to customize a region that includes all the mid-atlantic states (that, or else have a default region for the entire US so that all states would be included).

Man, you really come up with the "stumper" questions! I have never came across that with my Nav systems yet.
