looking for some information on converting NAV system in to a DVD player.

I am looking to have a shop do the conversion and how much did it cost?

Well, this could get a little tricky. DVD players are going to run about $500. The tricky part is hooking it up the A/V feeds. The stock head unit doesn't have stereo RCA inputs and I'm pretty positive the screen doesn't have composite RCA inputs. I'm not sure if they make RCA to pin-type connectors, but you'd have to find one that works with Infiniti. If not, you're looking at a complete overhaul--DVD player, head unit, screen. If that's the case, I've given some help in this area. What I would recommend doing is buying a new head unit capable of playing DVDs and buy a new screen. You put the new screen where the old one is and hook it up to the head unit. That way you can still watch movies up front while the vehicle is in motion--just don't let the 5-0 catch you.

No need to do the above.

What he needs is the double din mounting kit for the G35. It is a Jdm part although I think there are now clones available. It replaces the stock radio trim - and I believe with some kits u lose the dual climate control (i never use mine). You will be able to add a double (or single) DVD screen/ player in place of the stock radio AND keep the factory pop up nav.

My recommendation takes yours a step further... With mine you can have a nav screen and a movie at the same time up front.

Doing it those ways is the easiest way and will cost about the same. However, the JDM kits, if they're even being manufactured still, aren't available in the US at the moment for whatever reason. That Turbo kit, I would recommend staying away from. The quality isn't that great...the buttons are rubber for starters.
