I walked up to my car today and the battery was dead again. It's been less than 9 hours since I last shut it off. After jump starting it and letting the car run for 10 minutes the nav screen stayed on after shutting it down. Any idea why it would stay on because it's draining all my battery.

I tired turning the ignition on and off and same results. GrrrrrrrAnother trip to the dealer. By that time everything will be back to normal.

Anyone know what could be wrong with my car?

I have no clue...but I can tell u that a few times I have sworn that I have locked my doors, and yet when I return to the car it is un locked. I changed the battery in the remote, it have not happened since, could be a purely coincidental. Also check that you do not have a valet key in the key slot, this also happened to me, came out too the car with a dead battery. I dont know where else to point you....

Sounds like you're leaving the push button start button in either the accessory mode or the on mode when you exit the vehicle.

That would be virtually impossible though...you press it once and it shuts the car off completely, no one would ever wait a second or two and then press it again before exiting

Yes, it is unlinkely one would intentionally do that and then wonder why the nav screen is on, but one could shut the car off while it was in neutral, leaving the switch in the Accessory mode. One might assume it is in Off mode at this point, as looking at the light doesn't come as naturally as noticing the key wouldn't pull out. That said, it might also possible that one could put the car in Park and a sensor could still cause the ignition to go te Accessory thinking the car is not in Park, that might be a stretch, though...

I'm having a problem with my start/stop button in that when I push it to stop it only goes to acc not all the way to off. I have to do it several times to get it to go all the way to off. I have tried moving the shifter to see if its not all the way into park, but that doesnt seem to do it. Any suggestions? By the way, it does eventually go to off if i keep turning it off and on.

The switch is probably going bad.

If it is the switch, there is no need to buy from the dealer. These switched are sold on Ebay at very low prices - having been removed from salvaged M's.

When I had this problem it was the switch that tells the car which gear you are in. I got angry and beat on my gearshift and it started workin again. :)
