Nav Screen Fix

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Over the course of my one year of ownership the navigation screen of my 2011 has done a few weird things. A few times it has totally blacked out, but would come back on with a retsart of the car. I work near the coast and eventhough I was heading inland it had me a few miles off shore. Made me wish the EX were amphibious. I mentioned it to the dealer a couple of times, but since this stuff only occurred 3 or 4 times over a year, they could not replicate it of course. Finally, I took pictures, and then asked if there was a TSB. Turned out there is for replacing the entire screen. Had it done today, and they tell me it would have been $900 if not covered by warranty. Course I probably cant be sure it is really fixed until I go another year or so without incident. The loaner was a G37X. I use to have a 2010 xS, and had forgotten just how quick they are. Makes me wonder how the the new EX 37 measures up. There is only a couple hundred pound weight diference. Much as I loved the power and handling of the G though, the ride, height, smoothness and interior of the EX is so much better. Turns out I am happier with the EX than I would be with another G. I must be getting old.

Had the same issue after three months of ownership on brand new 2012. Took it to dealership and was told it was a common problem. Dealership replaced it, going on 4 months with no problems.
