What website can I save map data to SD cards to import into the Rogue's Nav? I need to avoid the snow storms this week and the Rogue's nav is going to take me right into the middle of it.

Help.

From pg 3-9 of your Navigation System Owners Manual:
HOW TO ORDER MAP DATA UPDATES
To order updated map data, visit http://www.nissannavigation.com or contact the Nissan Navigation Helpdesk.
The map data is in a proprietary format and aftermarket maps cannot be used. Your only option is Nissan.

Unfortunately, as of Jan. 2011 there are no map updates available for the Rogue.

I knew it could be updated that way but I didn't realize the slot was ONLY there for that purpose. That stinks.

Looks like it's the old fashioned way I guess...thanks for the help.

That's one reason I don't like factory nav systems: proprietary maps that cannot be easily customized or updated. I've owned enough GPS units over the years to realize it's the map data that can make it or break it. The new Garmin Nuvi units with Lifetime Map updates and Traffic are really the way to go nowadays. Garmin also releases map updates several times per year. If that isn't enough, they also support Gamin's multitude of map products and several aftermarket ones... many of which are free.

My current GPS is a Garmin Dakota 20. Nothing fancy and the screen is tiny, but it's loaded with City Navigator for turn-by-turn navigation, plus I have a super detailed (and free) topo map when I go off road (MTB, geo-caching, hiking, canoeing, etc). Best of both worlds really.

There's a bit of subjective preference involved. I use my smartphone for all my GPS needs.

That works as well... albeit with one caveat: Some smartphones have dynamic maps that require cell phone that coverage with a data link to work. No signal = no data link = no maps

If you live/drive in the city, this isn't an issue. However, there are many areas I drive (rural and backcountry roads in Canada) that have no cell phone service.
