Guess its that time of year, looking to get up to date inputs on newer nav-disks.

The car I bought still has an 2008 nav disk.

After looking through past threads, I convinced myself I need to upgrade.

Question for all you long time M owners; I found the 2015 v7.10 dvd for $84.00 shipped from navigation. Com. Is this the best route? Or should I be waiting for the 2016 version to come out?

Thanks ya'll.

For that price, you'll likely get 98% of what the 2016 disk will have. I say go for it. And I've used that site twice...it's good.

It's a waste (any of them), just use your phone for the few addresses you may not find. Trust me, you are better off by FAR!!! :werd:

I use that site as well. However, updating every year seems a bit overkill to me. I update every 2 years. If your maps are from 2008, you are overdue my friend. As Ilya said, there is no need to wait for the 2016 version at $149 when you can get the 2015 version for half price. If you really want the 2016 version, they run a discount at $99 beginning in May or June each year. I still recommend the 2015 at $79 though - get the 2017 version at the $99 rate.

Thanks for the responses.

I can appreciate the sentiment of just using the cell phone. However, I find it easier to use the cars nav system most of the time, simply because it allows me to be on the phone while still getting the directions. Also, my area is crazy different than it was 8 years ago, so I do need an update.

Navdvds.com. have any of you purchased from this site? Seems they have the 2015 version for $59 out the door. Thoughts?

The site you posted is selling a DVD update. The 2008 and above models are supposed to have a hard drive NAV system. If yours still has the DVD system, then it's worth a try. It's possible your didn't originally have NAV and the DVD system was added after the fact. If you haven't already done so, double check your glove box. If you don't have the DVD slot in the glove box, you have the hard drive model.
**** If you buy your update from navigation . com you will NOT get a DVD - you get a key code that you have to take to your dealer and they use that key code to update the hard drive.*****

Hey Larz, thanks for the reply. I have a late 2007 model production (car is an 07), so I still have the dvd based nav in my glove box.

Guess I will give the navdvds.com site a try.

Quick update for members here. Did some real fine online sleuthing (google) lol, and found a lot of negative reviews for the navdvds.com site.

I am going to stay clear, and order from the site where others here have had success!

New M45,
Where did you end up getting an update? When I purchased my M45 it did not come with the navigation disk - I'd like to get one if it's reasonably priced. I almost got one from navdvds until I saw your comment.

Thanks!

Hey bud,

Im gonna go with the navigation. Com site. @$84 for the 2015 version. Llya said he has used this company twice with good results. Good enough for me.

The other site came out to about $60 with shipping. Gonma pay the xtra $24 to avoid ny hassles.

Ended up buying from Amazon. Seller is HERE MAPS. This way, if any problems, Amazon will take return. $89 including ship and tax for CA. 2015 version 7.10. Hope this helps.

It's probably just a resale of the Navigation.com stuff. Also, my name is ilya, not llya ;). (i followed by l, not two l's)

I actually just got my 2015 maps DVD last week from the Infiniti site ($88.95 after tax) after a much needed update. The DVD is the original 2005 that came in my 06 M45 so it was just over a decade old. I really wish there was something more toward a firmware type update in addition to the new maps. Overall it still won't beat googlemaps on your phone for ease of entry for an address but definitely much needed if you are years behind.

Can a Nissan dealer install the updates as well? I work at a Nissan dealer and would like to update the maps on my 2009 M35x (HDD).
