I am tired of looking at the 'insert navigation cd' screen. Would anyone out there in NICOland be able and willing to burn me a copy of their navigation CD? I'd gladly pay the shipping cost and throw a token your way for taking the time.

Thanks! :bigthumb:

As near as I can tell the navigation update DVDs, cards, etc. cannot be cloned and actually work. There is a decent discussion about it here:

Same thing in trying to update the navigation in our newly acquired 2006 Toyota Prius. A manufacturer's algorithm prevents navigation DVDs from being copied and used in another Toyota.

Good luck.

Maybe it depends on the model of nav, but I cloned my nav CD for my 2001 model and ran the nav off the "clone" for years without issue. I pm'ed rgk but did not hear back. One drawback of the older navs is that they require a different CD for each region - when I drive out of the SouthEastern US region, the nav thinks I've driven off the earth.

Well, I doubt you can't burn a CD for this old system, because CDs are being sold without their respective systems on eBay.

Sroberts, sorry for never getting back to you, my internet is spotty right now. In any case, I live outside the known world according to your navigation. :)
