Hello,

I live in Dubai but I bought my vehicle from US ,while I was trying to find the disc of the navigation system for my country , I discovered that systems built for the North American market will not work in other parts of the world even if a disc for that area is purchased and installed !!!I need help,Is there any workaround to solve this problem? If not, what should I change to make this system work? Don’t tell me to ask Zenrin, I did but no response.

Welcome to NICOclub! Glad to have you here in the Armada/QX56 Forum, especially someone from quite a distance away!

In a way it sounds like you may have answered your own question.....If you know 100% for sure that a Dubai disc will NOT work in the North American system, then you would have to replace the system, which is what? I am not sure, would you have to replace the AV unit? What about the DVD rom drive? I take you have a model older than an '08, because I know the '08 DOES NOT have a DVD rom drive, instead they went to a hard drive system. Did you check with a local dealer in Dubai? Let me know what your thoughts are, and good luck!

Hello Timmbo, Thank you for trying to help. Forgive me if my English doesn’t support me to explain my ideas better, but fixing this problem is much complicated than fixing the Nav system one.

Yes you are absolutely right '08 have a hard drive system, but to install the new navigation system software and map, you have to have CONSULT III, which is a tool must be use to update the vehicle hard drive, and the disc work with CONSULT III laptop.

I want to make sure if there is special software for each region (software not map), If yes ,then does the systems built for the North American (as hardware) compatible with other region software?, or is it require hardware replacement.

Yes I did but dealers in my country in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi are useless; they always try to punish us for not buying from them, for this case they told me its require to replace the hall system and it going to cost me $8000.

If the dealer in US is better than ours or if you know any technical that can help in this case, I will be appreciating.

Thank you.
