truly an amazing sound. nothing beats having it rumble beneath your feet at over 100mph either.

maybe its just me but the tub the invectors were in looked to be made of carbon fiber...I wasn't aware carbon fiber could handle the heat of an engine bay, especially the engine bay of an F1 car where the engine, transmission and full exhaust system are all confined in teh same tiny space.

Call me stupid, but that thing was running with no intake manifold whatsoever?

If so, Why?

It did, didn't it? It was just an ITB setup with really small throttle bodies... and it wasn't direct injection. TBI, or throttle body injection.

Wow... those headers were glowing a lot...

carbon fiber is good to around 700-750° F. after that, the resin starts to break down.

unless they have some special resin that can withstand more.

This was posted somewhere else before. Someone suggested there that it might be methanol injection or something.

eventually these v10's will be phased out. v8's are slated to be running soon.

yeah they are coming but i think some of the back markers get to run a detuned v10 until tey can afford it.

this vid is awesome. i'm gonna loop the sound together and make a long "race".

they say in testing on most of these itb setups with high performanc engines such as the indy car engine there. that condensation could be seen running down the runners. those injectors showing on top werent the only ones fueling the engine either. I think its cool that you can see the fuel reversion because of the intake pulses pushing it back out. i just wish i could build an engine that revved that high!!

It does, I just pulled it out so I could show everyone

JK, now everyone is going to ask "hey deviousKA, wheres that vid you said you would have"

My little brother is slow, needs some setup for his computer to hook up the vid camera. He has some sort of tuner card he is going to try make work, to capture and encode or something.

So, yeah, sometime here soon

I have seen carbon fiber dry sump oil pans, intakes, and intake manifolds. Carbon fiber can be used for anything dam near as long as has the correct bonding agents.
