My troubles continue...

During tuning today the car (01 Sentra SE - USDM RR SR20DE + JDM T25) started sputtering at low rpm/part throttle and stalling at idle. It's acting just like it did last time it had a vac leak, a shop found and fixed that one (was rather obvious, a clamp wasn't tightened down).

This one seems to be a phantom... my tuning guy said to hook up an air compressor to the intake system and listen for the leak(s)... how would I go about doing this exactly?

Thanks.

navysnail- If you read this, give me a call man, I could use your help tomorrow afternoon getting this thing right, and if you're lucky you'll get to find out what 230whp feels like .

Wow thats a cool idea for finding a vacuum leak... I would say youd take some compressed air (dont do it when the compressor is on, because you wont be able to tell) and hook the air line into the brake booster hose port... With the engine off, pull the brake booster line off and put the hose on from the compressed air tank... Id suggest puttin on a valve so that you can regulate flow... Get you one of those hand held air nozzles and put a hose on the end (dont forget clamps) and then pump a litlte into the intake and listen.....

Some independent shops have a fogging machine... What it does is pump fog into your intake (like party fog) and then you look at it with a light to see where the smoke is coming from..... Id call around and ask a few places.....

you can also try with the car running going around the engine compartment and spraying brake parts cleaner, and seeing if you can see the mist being sucked in...

I like that compressor idea though...
