Ok so within the last few days my turbo has been making a sort of grinding noise when it spools. It does it in every gear but 4th and 5th. The turbine spins like it should with no shaft play or anything. I thought the noise was an exhaust leak but all the bolts are tight and there are no leaks from gaskets or anything. Is my poor T-25 dieing? I don't have a blow off valve and I've been driving the car for maybe... 4 or 5 months. Ideas anyone?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah someone else suggested maybe the oil line was pinched but I don't see how it could be. I never go under there or anything. Is there a way to check for oil other than pulling off one of those pain in the *** oil lines?

Let the motor idle and just pop off the rubber oil return hose. If you remove it and no oil is coming out the bottom you have a problem. It's worth taking a look.

when i pulled my turbo i found a bunch of rtv strips stuck in the coolant line. someone had put a water pump or something on the motor without cleaning the old rtv off very well. its very possible you could have something stuck in the oil line. are the blades hitting the housing? i have heard of this making a grinding noise. if thats the case you will know when it takes a dump alltogether.

I'm going to look into rebuilding. I thought about the blades hitting the housing and it seems like the only thing it could be. I'm going to check for oil next chance I get.

Come on guys, the guy said he didn't have a blow off valve... I'm surprised it lasted 4-5 months. Sorry to say, it surged itself dead. You MUST!!!!!!!! have a blow of valve.

Better to rebuild or buy a used t-25? I'll upgrade in the future so this would just be temporary. And yeah, I'm going to order a bov from phase2 on monday.

Damage has been done, you can try to rebuild it and if it works, great! Well, I'll help you hope for the best.
