Nasty OE pin stripes

Anyone know a good way to remove the OE pin stripes on the exterior without messing up the surface?

Are you talking about the nearly half inch to 3/4 inch thick accent stripes that go from the front bumper all the way to the rear license plate? If you are, and if they are the thick OEM stripes, they will come off easily by just pulling them off. Just pull on one end and the whole stripe should come off in one piece. It will not damage the paint.

If the stripes do not come off in one piece but keep on tearing apart, then use a small plastic tool with a relatively pointy end to slowly and gently scrape off the tape. Spray a lubricant like water to keep the surface moist. Don't worry it wil damage the paint. I had to do this to my car when some of the stripes wouldn't come off by just pulling on it.

if your talking about the 2 smal pinstripes, then you'll need a heat gun, goo gone, small bondo spreader, and lots of time.

I used a razor blade to get the striping off and pulled at it a little at a time. Then I used goo gone to get the glue off. It left some scratch markes from wiping the goo gone off. I then buffed the sratched out. They also make a giant eraser looking thing that mounts on a drill. This works perfect, I didn't find out about this until after I removed the stripes. I don't know what its called but it worked great for taking the stripe off my Maxima though. Nick
