i don't drift, drag, or autocross, so imo, i have no need for multi-functional coilovers. i just gotta get rid of 1.5 - 2" of wheel gap without losing too much ride comfort.

on one hand, i've read good things about the apexi world sport dampers and they seem to be perfect for my needs. on the other hand, the price of the tein basics make them pretty attractive. the only problem is that i can't find any decent feedback about them anywhere.

who has tein basics, and what are your opinions on using them on a daily driver?

Why do you need coilovers if all you want to do is drop the car? Oxy-acetelyne torch, a ruler, and your stock springs will do just fine. I think whichever you can get for cheaper is the way to go, but myself, I would get the WS. I like to get parts for my car that I don't see everyday. Lots of folks have the Teins, but I have yet to see more than one or two cars with the WS.

you're not serious are you? i thought this was a big no no  . isn't this almost the same as running an aftermarket spring on stock shocks?

it's worse than running aftermarket springs on stock shocks. My buddies car is lowered that way and it sucks terribly. If you have the cash, get the coilovers. I can't imagine you'd be far wrong with either. They are both very reputable companies. I know when i was looking for the WS for another car, a great deal of people said they tend to blow quickly. I don't know if they suffer the same problem with the 24o though. The Tein's might be the safer of the two. I have the D2's and i'm very pleased with mine.(At least for the 3 days i've had them.)

its worse. when you cut/heat spring and all that, you DO increase spring rate, but you'll never really know by how much. C-kwick, q45tech and a few others had a long discussion about it. all in all, cutting springs is just ignorant. YOu're stock springs werent designed to opperate without 2 coils(or howerever many you take off), nor were your shocks, and...since the springs arent really much stiffer, the travell will be the same in any given load(excepting the small increase in spring rate due to shortening the spring) but will have less total travell area(from say 3" travel to 1.5"), which is a very bad thing.

Demetrious, if you dont need the height adjustment, get some S.techs and AGX's.

Dennis kalman liked his apexi(likes) WS, just dont drop them(or the teins) over 2", since you'll be compressing the damper too much, and it may fail. my vote is for the apex-i peices, they're 30% stiffer than stock, and are nice quality.

TEIN makes a good one also, so it may just boil down to whats cheaper....-chet

i considered going with a spring/shock combo, but my car already sits lower than any s13 that i've ever seen. i have a 2.5" wheel gap all the way around. the suspension looks stock, but i don't want to take a chance wasting money and time on a spring/shock combo that may or may not give me the drop i want.

i believe it was rico05 who said that my car looks like his does now that he's installed his nismo s-tune coilovers.

if i read the FAQ correctly, the tein's 6/6 spring rate isn't as comfy as the apexi's 6.5/4. that may be the deciding factor for me.

OT - ugh i hate having to spam my post with smiley faces so that retards can realise its sarcasm.

if you dont drag drift or autocross then all you have left to do is daily drive or show car. if it is your daily driver then leave it stock since nissan engineers designed it for daily driving. if its a show car just cut the springs and spraypaint them red since you will be trailoring it right?

:rolleyes

this is a bit off otpic but it seems price might be a deciding factor,

the chepest I've seen for the tein basics go for is like $780and the cheapest I've seen the WS go for is like $990...unlessthere's a place that sells WS for cheap?

I guess that might help you in deciding
