ok so i had thought it was coolant and i needed to redo my hg and ish, but me and ronin were talking and established that due to the intermittantcy and how my car has to be idling for a minute or two before the giant cloud of smoke comes out, and then itll go away if u rev the motor a little bit, and if i raise the rpm to 1000 every 20 secs or so at stoplights it wont happen, we decided that its prolly a fuel issue and for some reason my car is dumping all of my gas into the motor at once. what could cause this? tia

Is the smoke black, white, or blue?

Just to let some know, white can be overly rich too. When I first started my SR with a bad maf, it was running super rich (richer then norm) and the smoke was white and smelled like an oily burning pile of leaves, kinda gassy too. Running "normal" rich will be black smoke. White "sweet" smelling smoke is coolant. And white/bluish/sometimes black smoke is oil (everyone knows what burning oil smells like, its just bitter). I can usually tell by smelling now because smoke colors vary.
