I have to replace the front right CV shaft for the pathfinder, but the ones i got at Napa have a different mating surface than the Nissan originals.
The originals have a rounded flat completely circular profile. The Napa ones are missing metal around the circular mating surface. Is this bad? The parts number match up and the photo on the Napa website looks like the original, but this one in the box looks different. I dont know what to do. Should i return the Napa CV shaft? :gotme

Here are some pics to illustrate:

I am also looking for the bolts that hold the cv shaft to the differential. One is missing.

I replaced the CV shafts on mine a few years back with the style that Napa uses with no problems. I wouldn't sweat it as long as they fit. I want to say the ones I pulled off were the same style as well. It's a basically a flat plate behind them so there aren't any internals to protect from the elements.

You can get a new bolt at the dealership. It's part number 39106-50W00, the washer is 08915-1381A. Make sure you use some threadlocker on them; blue should be fine.

Thanks for responding!! Gives me some peace of mind. I saw this too late though. I went back to Napa and returned the part because when they brought another, it looked the same. They returned the money and the guy behind the counter apologized and was also concerned that the parts did not look like the website images. I bought a CV shaft at Rock Auto and i'm waiting for it now. Í guess if its the same, ill just install it and not worry about it.
I called the dealer for the bolts and they do have them.
