If it cranks over then check for spark and fuel. Check for ecu codes as well. Check for oil in the coolant. Check the plugs and other tune-up related ignition components even if it does have spark. IF all of the above seem ok try unplugging the coolant temp sensor and cranking it then. I just went through that very same problem on a 95 model and have a recent post about it. It ended up being the temp sensor being bad. BUT first check everything I listed first.

alright thanks for the good i just hope my engine is not dead:((ok well so far we have checked for spark spark okfuel okbattery okstarter ok.uhm MAF sensor is kinda not connected right theres is a black wire connected to the chassis like for ground.

and ima try checking the ECU today to see wat codes i get...

hold on their might bee oil in the coolant! since my car has been overheating.

by temp sensor do u mean thermostat cuz i recently installed a new one onl.thanks.

if you are sure you have fuel and spark then check for compression. if you havent had your MAFS hooked up, do that. make sure you swap in a buddies ECU and see if thats the problem.

also, the coolant temperature sensor is different than the thermostat. the thermostat meters the flow of coolant in the engine, while the CTS actually measures the temperature of the coolant. CTSs do sometimes cause no-start conditions IIRC.

do you want me to make a new post about this? it would be helpful to all..well im not sure about the mileage i have to go check to be exact but theres alot of miles. well its a 91 DOHC super HICAS. i knew something was happening to my engine since i couldent feel that much power. i have raced my friends 98 civic ex and i lost to it . other then that i noticed when i turned on my car when i started it all the time it would seems like the car is not going to start.and last i had overheating problems. i have changed the thermostat. the temp would rise and out of sudden it would go to temp. and this would happend all the time. the last time i drove it was about 10 miles away to go to the mall by the time i came back home parked it normaly. then i checked under my hood then i went back in my car to turn it back on and there is is a made this griding sound at first. after that no more "the car would seems like is about to turn on but you can tell theres is no compression in the pistons.i got the bad news yesterday wen we did the compression test piston reed 0owell im already saving up for my SR:))hope this helps all that having my type of problem

you could just have a blow HG which is a easy fix. Or your ring lands are gone. Id check HG though cause those numbers look like a HG bloew.
