name this valve! (RB20)

I've been having some crazy idle problems, mainly after the car warms up. My idle is usually around 1850+rpms! I just replaced the AAC, and what I thought was the IAC. I don't know what this valve is though!?! I've messed w/ the idle screw and tryed almost everything I can think of. I'm probably going to try bypassing this valve tomorrow. Does anyone know what it is?

air reglulator.stupid high idle is proly due to improperly set tps not a valve.

nope, I took it off and soaked it in brake parts cleaner and it doesn't stick at all.

pirate air, arrrr! look for some hose off the intake that might have come off letting air past the throttle at idle.

Something else you might want to check is your head temp sensor, those things can be fidgety and replacing one on my KA24 and my friends Z solved his idle problem. Try the MAF also just for the hell of it.

head temp sensor? where is that? I think the MAF is okay, but airflow maxes out (according to afc) in 3rd gear around 6800rpms, 12.5psi. I need to get a Z32 MAF anyway, but I want to fix this idle problem before I do anything else to the car.

Its right by the water pump on by the radiator hose exit.
