resistor for the fuel pump. direct wire with a relay and trash that

I have that part sitting in box left over from an old RB20DET swap and never knew what it was for either. Thanks for this info.

It is supposed to lower the voltage to the pump at low RPMs, and run full voltage at higher rpms, but I don't think it works right. I just used the factory wiring to switch a relay in the trunk powered straight from the battery. Went from 10.8 volts to 13.1 volts. I used big wires too, so now that I'm running two pumps, all I had to do was mount it basically.
