Name that part

ive been digging and digging for info on what this part is called. I need to buy one. Mine was the cause of a little fire. Not really sure what happened but on my way to work for the first time since putting the engine all together. and my car stalled and smoke was coming from the side of the air box. poured a little water on it and saw this little guy burnt to a crisp. SO, what is it? ive looked around and what little info i found on it people are calling it different things.
the wire colors are:
yellow with red stripe and silver bars
teal/green with black stripe
black with silver bars
black with red stripe

what motor? Trace it back to where it comes from and use a wiring diagram?

that is exactly what every answer to this question has been.
like i said, ive been digging. all ive come up with is that it is either the resister and condenser, ignition coil resister (which it isnt), or a tachometer resister which i also dont beleive it is.
Ive searched up and down courtesyparts. ive called them. no one has any idea what this thing is. i even just recently bought a few 240 parts off craigslist from a nice enough guy to let me check out under his hood. saw that it said 2.2ohm resister and 4.7 uF condenser. thats all the part said. still cant find it.
maybe ive overlooked something? ive been searching for almost 2 weeks now.
i need help with this. so if anyone has any REAL answers. please and thank you.

for future reference to anyone who had this terrible thing happen to them.
After many trips to the dealership with burnt parts, wiring diagrams, and a few hunches. finally figured it out. it is the TACHOMETER RESISTOR. There is a light green with a black stripe and a yellow wire with a red stripe. those 2 go to the resistor side of the 4 pin tach resistor. now theres 2 more wires that go to the other portion of the resistor. a black with a red stripe and a black with silver rings.
