Nail on my tire's side wall

i got a nail on my tire side wall this morning. I went to a place and they plugged it for me. u think it's ok to drive? what are the chance the tire will blow? THanks

didn't know you could plug the sidewall... what did they use and how did they do it?

typically, to plug the tire, it'd have to be a hole where the tread is, not the sides.

Sidewalls should not be repaired AFAIK

well, it's in there, the guy plugged it and i've been driving it. i wasnt about to pay another 200 dollars for another tire. i just got the tire 6 months ago. i hope everything's gonna be ok after i'ts plugged.

Ummm....that's a terrible idea. You cannot plug a sidewall, simply because of the amount of flex that it has to endure from driving on the road. Patching a hole in the tread is ok, but the sidewall is irrepairable...

I would be wary of both the job done, and the place that did the work.

You need a new tire.

Most places wouldn't do this for you because of the safety issue but if it wasn't far up the sidewall it could be ok depending on the tire. This thread is useless anyway without seeing the location of the nail/patch and knowing what tire.
